Return policy

Lowe’s is committed to partnering with you to achieve your home improvement goals.

If you’re not completely satisfied with your Lowe’s purchase, simply return the merchandise to any Lowe’s store in the US.

Most new, unused merchandise can be refunded or exchanged with receipt within 90 days of the original purchase date, unless noted in our Return Policy Exceptions. Returns with a valid proof of purchase will be exchanged or refunded to the original method of payment, except as set forth by the following:

Purchases made with:

  • Check will be refunded as In-Store Credit if within 3 days of purchase; if after 3 days, purchases may be refunded in cash or In-Store Credit as determined by refund verification systems. No refund will be provided if you have an outstanding bad check with Lowe’s as determined by check verification systems.
  • Cash and cash equivalent exceeding $1,000 may be refunded by check sent from Lowe’s corporate office.
  • Cash, or check if after 3 days, for merchandise fulfilled via Scheduled Delivery that are cancelled or returned via phone or Lowes.com will be refunded via a refund voucher to the email address on the original purchase within 24 hours of processing. The refund voucher is redeemable for cash at any Lowe’s location with photo ID that matches the name on the refund voucher; amounts exceeding $1,000 may be refunded by check sent by mail.
  • Gift card, Refund Card, Merchandise Card, In-Store Credit, or through a Lowe’s Branded storefront on a third-party marketplace will be refunded as In-Store Credit.
  • Lowe’s Pay are credited back to the financing institution, which will handle the refund process with you directly. Purchases made with Lowe’s Pay cannot be refunded to cash and/or In-Store Credit and do not qualify for Lowe’s credit card Return Policy extensions.
  • MyLowe’s Money™ will be refunded to the digital wallet.
  • Lowe’s Commercial Account (LCA), MyLowe’s Pro Rewards Credit Card (MLPRC), MyLowe’s Rewards Credit Card (MLRCC), or Lowe’s Business Rewards (LBR) have 365 days from the date of purchase to return the product, unless noted below.

Written copies of Lowe’s Return Policy will be provided upon request.

No Returns Without Proof of Purchase

  • Lowe’s does not accept returns without a valid proof of purchase.
  • We can attempt to validate your purchase using the following methods: physical or electronic receipt, order number, payment card or digital wallet, phone number, Pro Rewards Account or MyLowe’s Rewards Account.
  • We use refund verification systems, which may require a valid picture ID (state driver’s license, state ID card or military ID).
